radeon [X600] Graphic artifacts and cursor problems with GL rendering in KDE4
Last modified: 2009-11-27 22:52:48 UTC
Created attachment 329741 [details] Cursor trails User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5 I have an ATI X600 video card. If I enable the GL graphic effects in KDE4, I get all sorts of artifacts that remain on screen when moving windows or closing them. They are not so bad as to make work impossible, they are annoying. What's worse is the fact that the cursor (not the mouse pointer) is not displayed most of the time, or it does not blink, or leaves trails. This is awful. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install on computer with ATI X600 (Dell GX620) 2. Enable graphical effects in KDE4 3. Artifacts (colored lines that remain after moving a window or closing it) and cursor problems Actual Results: Artifacts, cursor problems. Expected Results: No artifacts, normal cursor.
I think I wasn't quite correct regarding the cursor problems. They seem to appear only in Firefox and Thunderbird. I tried kwrite and that works just fine.
Would it be possible to provide the required information according to our HOWTO http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:X for reporting X11 related bugs? Please set the Status back to ASSIGNED after providing all the required information. Thanks.

I'm rather sure this is a duplicate of Bug #556642, which again is likely a duplicate of Bug #549226. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 556642 ***
