User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5

Reading Will Stephenson's announcement about planned upgrade to KDE 4.3.4, which I am pleased to hear, I installed the KDE 4.3.4 from Stable: repo mentioned prior to the planned release via update.

Attempt to use SystemSettings->ComputerAdmin->Display crashes immediately, I wanted to see if the settings persist now, as in 4.3.1, logging out lost the selection.

Reproducible: Always

Due to deprecation of Sax2, adjusting monitor resolution within KDE becomes important, not just a 'nice to have'.

Installation repo for KDE update, I did refresh, then from run level 3 "zypper dup --from kde4-desktop" with no conflicts, and it has fixed some bugs I saw before (sizing maximised vertical windows for example).

http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-announce/2009-12/msg00002.html -
We have consulted the openSUSE maintenance team, who were in favour of this
move. The online update will take place after a period of testing 4.3.4 on
11.2 in KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop.

Same here. Same repo. My backtrace for #7 and #8 didn't have ?? like the op's did so I'm adding it.

Just thought I'd mention that I have 11.2 final installed on another partition where I have updated KDE to 4.4 beta and I'm not having this problem.

What graphics card/driver do you use? I use the nvidia binary driver and can reproduce it.
Comment 6 Stephan Binner 2009-12-21 09:59:31 UTC
(Regression) should be fixed before online update of 11.2 to KDE 4.3.4

nvidia from repo's for 8500GT
_64bit

same symptom was on laptop Intel chip 965
Kernel driver in use: agpgart-intel
But now using kde4.4 beta on this laptop and this issue has been resolved

I've just reported the very same bug to kde, see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220665
for stacktrace and stuff

I'm using a nVidia 9600GT graphics card with the nvidia driver:
x11-video-nvidiaG02-190.53-9.1.x86_64
nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default-190.53_2.6.31.5_0.1-8.1.x86_64

# uname -a
Linux machine 2.6.31.5-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I use a dual screeen setup with two 1600x1200 monitors side by side, using one as primary desktop (with task bar) and the other as secondary monitor without any task bars.

I'm using the 4.3.4 openSuse repo with all available updates applied (zypper dup)
