Does clicking "Check Now" solve the issue?

No, it doesn´t.
If i noticed correct, it always appears when i use "zypper ref" and then "zypper up" commands.

Hello,
when the applet shows that there are some updates, but I do not apply them, then after restarting my computer, I use to get this dummy patch. When I click on it (in the list of available patches), I get 2 or 3 messages saying that there are new updates for my system. So I close the original window with the dummy patch and open a new one with real patches.
If it was done purposly this way and the dummy patches have some meaning, there could be an option to apply them automaticly, because they are annoying.

kupdateapplet will be replaced by kpackagekit. That's the reason for closing this bug report.

kpackagekit is a community project that support a lot of awesome features. See:
