Bugzilla – Bug 568162
kernel-default-2.6.31.8-0.1.1.i586 is broken for Asus EEE PC 1000
Last modified: 2010-01-05 18:37:21 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; ru; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 SUSE/3.5.6-1.1.1 Firefox/3.5.6 WiFi with WPA-PSK2 is broken for my Asus EEE PC 1000. Machine hangs after Yast2->Network settings or soon after boot. Previous kernel-default-2.6.31.5-0.1.1.i586. It uses rt2860sta.ko module. Scanning WiFi networks in yast2 completes successfully, but pressing OK causes hangs soon after firewall init. Work around: install old kernel-default-2.6.31.5-0.1.1.i586 module, then: zypper al kernel-default. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. zypper up 2. reboot Actual Results: machine hangs Expected Results: normal wifi networking.
Can you provide a screen shot of the kernel oops?
This sounds very similar to my report and according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC#Specifications the EEE PC 1000 hast the same Ralink RT2860 chipset. Since I have a screenshot I'm marking this as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 568307 ***
