User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0)

After installation of openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 1, it asks me to reboot. When I do, I get a black screen after the restart and it's stuck on the black screen. I tested this on 5 different computers, and the bug was there on all 5 computers.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 1

2.Reboot after the installation

3.Notice the black screen

Actual Results:
Black screen

Expected Results:
Boot into openSUSE

Same here on X86_64.
I got a distorted screen.
I saw 2..3 lines of text, starting with
doing a fast boot
....

Numlock is working still.
At now I cannot find my serial cable to get konsole output :-;

Could you, please, specify "After installation"? Which is the last screen you can see?
Comment 3 kevin vandeventer 2010-02-21 21:06:19 UTC
I just installed Milestone 2 x86_64 from the dvd. After the first part of the install with auto configuration (all normal), my computer rebooted to a black screen with a white cursor. I did ctrl>alt>F1 and it took me to a text screen where the last output was ***Starting YaST2*** and a blinking cursor. Nothing else happened, so I did ctrl>C and it looked to be completing the boot process and gave me a login prompt.

I couldn't log in as normal user as none had been created. I logged in as root and checked 'hwinfo --gfxcard and my nvidia 8600GTS was listed using the nv driver. I tried sax2 -r -m 0=vesa but sax2 just hung up.

I then switched to text install and started over. I was able to get to the configuration part of the install that way, which finished with no problems. When I started X, I got another black screen with a white cursor.

This time the sax2 command worked and got me to the gui. Everything seems normal after that.

OK, then an X bug, not bootloader.
