I tried 'init 3' as well - boot process stops at same place.
how much memory do you have?
I tried a different live-cd(11.2) # hwinfo --memory 01: None 00.0: 10102 Main Memory [Created at memory.61] Unique ID: rdCR.CxwsZFjVASF Hardware Class: memory Model: "Main Memory" Memory Range: 0x00000000-0xefdd4bff (rw) Memory Size: 3 GB + 768 MB Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown
Created attachment 341410 [details] hwinfo from 11.2 livecd
bug 576948 may be linked to this. With 576548 the process goes well beyond the line 'setting up ramzwap device' but ends with a (openSUSE) green screen of death while starting Akonadi.
bug 576948 has been solved with milestone 2. I suggest that Glenn Doig tries Milestone 2 to see if the bug remains.
I tried a later edition, openSUSE-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64-Build0448-Media.iso and that seemed to work better and it booted ok. I did not see any messages for ramzwap - # grep -i ramzwap /var/log/* Please close this.
I only took out the support for compcache, which is rather sad. But as I have no idea why it doesn't work and there are no maintainers for this code, it was the only choice.
For a upto date of tested iso's see http://openqa.opensuse.org/
