Description Michael Kutyna 2010-02-22 01:21:52 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6

If you add a network share to Dolphin's places and then attempt to open a new file in that new "place" then you are given the error "You can only select local files."

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Join a computer to an active directory domain that has a CIFS share
2.Log in to the computer with an AD account that has permissions to the above CIFS share
3.Open Dolphin, right click on Places and select Add Entry
4.For the location, type smb://server_name/share_name/
5.Start OpenOffice.org, go to File > Open and select the Network Place that you just created from the left hand menu.
6.Attempt to open any type of valid Openoffice.org file through that Network Place.
Actual Results:
Error pops up saying "You can only select local files"

Expected Results:
The file should be opened.

In previous versions of openSUSE, I could go into OpenOffice.org and attempt to browse to a network share and be told that is unavailable. However, I still had the option of opening Dolphin, browsing to the network share, double clicking and the file would be copied to /tmp and would be opened up by OpenOffice.org. Now, if I were to attempt that, OpenOffice.org would launch and I would be left with a blank document. The file on the network share is never touched.

I am also unable to save files to network shares in OpenOffice.org.
