Install hangs during installation of package OpenOffice_org-calc-extensions
Last modified: 2010-05-16 08:43:51 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 SUSE/3.6.3-1.1 Firefox/3.6.3 First-time package installation hangs during the installation of package OpenOffice_org-calc-extensions. The mouse can still move, but the GUI is unresponsive to input. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Begin installation 2. De-select "automatic configuration" 3. Select "KDE" for desktop choice 4. Install the system. Actual Results: The system formats the drive and deploys images, but then gets to the package OpenOffice_org-calc-extensions and appears to "wait" forever. No further input is accepted. The user is unable to complete installation. Expected Results: The install should progress normally.
This issue is also reproducible on a running system. I installed Milestone 6 by removing OpenOffice from the packages that are installed at system installation. Later when the system was running, I tried to installed OpenOffice_org-calc-extensions. There it hangs like at the system installation described above.

I did several clean installs of Milestone 6 of OpenSuse11.3 on 2 computers. Every time it hangs at the openoffice.org calc extensions,as mentioned above. When I try to not install the openoffice package during initial installation of the OS it still does install them. Even when I choose the red traffic sign with the text "Never to install it" openoffice.org will be installed and will hang at the calc extensions. How can I change this to install the OS. It's okay not not have Openoffice since I install it in a virtual machine just to test it. The host system has Openoffice installed. On the 2nd computer, a laptop, I installed it as main OS and it also hangs at the calc extensions so it has nothing to do being installed on a virtual machine.
