A default install (but choosing Gnome desktop) into a typical VMWare VM freezes at 88%.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create vmx for typical VMWare VM
2.Default install of 11.3 milestone 6, but using Gnome desktop

Actual Results:  
Installation freezes at 88%

Expected Results:  
Complete installation

I attempted the same default install (same vmware VM) but choosing KDE.  That one freezes at 82%, apparently right after installing OpenOffice_org-calc-extensions-3.2.0.99.3-1.1.i586.rpm.
