Bugzilla – Bug 609955
KDE Help Center and kdepim segfault
Last modified: 2010-06-02 15:45:08 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 SUSE/3.6.3-1.2 Firefox/3.6.3 As can be seen in http://www3.zq1.de/opensuse/video/openSUSE-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64-Build0637b.ogv at 02:14 KDE Help Center crashes (segfault). kde pim crashes later This does not happen on i686 for some reason. I also reproduced this on physical hardware but I had problems getting debug rpms to generate proper backtraces. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open KDE Help Center from Menu Actual Results: Help Center segfaulted Expected Results: it should start
It has already been reported upstream. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=238705 Quoting Maksim Orlovich (comment #7): "Possible gcc bug --- I got confirmation that building with gcc-4.5.0-1 works while 4.5.0-2 doesn't, and, well" http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=44258
As a workaround, I have rebuilt kdelibs4 with gcc43 in my home-repo (home:balta3) and it seems to work.
Fixed.
