both current Promo DVD isos do not boot beyond initrd
http://www3.zq1.de/opensuse/video/openSUSE-Promo-DVD-x86_64-Build0066.ogv

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. qemu-kvm -m 1000 -cdrom openSUSE-Promo-DVD-x86_64-Build0066-Media.iso
2. choose "Installation"

Actual Results:
"Make sure that CD number 1 is in your drive."

Expected Results:
should boot into installer like normal DVD iso

might be caused by missing drivers. /lib/modules/2.6.34.9-default only contains initrd/loop.ko and squashfs.ko

Promo version 2-3 weeks ago did work.

However, live components (GNOME/KDE) still do work.

build86 works fine for me. Can you please retry?

http://www3.zq1.de/opensuse/video/openSUSE-Promo-DVD-i586-Build0086.ogv did indeed work, but
the most recent x86_64 build (Build0080 (again, having common numbering would be a plus)) did not:

Steffen, any idea what's wrong with that iso? I don't get it.

Comment 7 Stephan Kulow 2010-06-18 10:13:08 UTC
hopefully fixed, but can't test as factory is rebuilding atm
