Bugzilla – Bug 668188
DVD KDE installation does not automatically select openoffice or libreoffice to be installed in M6
Last modified: 2011-02-02 06:58:33 UTC
User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; en) Presto/2.7.62 Version/11.00 During DVD KDE M6 installation I was interested in, if openoffice or libreoffice will be installed as standard. So during installation I selected software - detail - search, and I found that both openoffice and libreoffice are unselected = no one of them will be installed as standard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start new DVD KDE M6 installation 2. in step of instalation overview select software - details - search 3. search for openoffice and libreoffice to see if they are checked to be installed Actual Results: No openoffice and no libreoffice seems to be automatically installed in M6. Expected Results: I am not sure what is actual decision, but in final openSuse 11.4 either openoffice or libreoffice, if stable, should be automatically selected to be installed for KDE
I think, the problem is missing libc.so.6. I tried it once more, and installation shows conflict of missing libc.so.6 and then I try to avoid conflicts and it pressed me to not install whole KDE = also openoffice and libreoffice were not installed. So if there would be libc.so.6 available, this "bug" would be most probably solved.
Does it get selected if you choose GNOME for installation?

For Gnome it is the same as for KDE. Problem is most probably not openoffice nor libreoffice, but problem is that on DVD is missing libc.so.6. (please see attachment pictures), were also installation summary shows message: Cannot solve dependencies automatically. Manual intervention is required.

So no KDE bug.
This is probably duplicate of bug 645272
