The problem started after upgrading to Tumbleweed.
When power management blanks the screen it will not resume.
The only ways to get response then are either power button or Sysrq.

As a workaround I command
xset s noblank

The problem occurs in KDE and LXDE and the workaround helps in both.
I use LXDE most of the time so I have added this to /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart. Works fine, screen never blanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

The kernel has got updated a couple of times during Tumbleweed and I seem to remember that there vere stages where this problem did not exist.

There is no X.Org update in Tumbleweed project (yet). This is likely a kernel regression.
Comment 2 Stefan Dirsch 2011-02-05 19:34:58 UTC
Possibly a dup of bnc #666162.
Comment 3 Jeff Mahoney 2011-02-09 17:41:10 UTC
Looks like it.
