Description Gerald Pfeifer 2011-03-23 10:19:57 UTC
This is a regression from earlier versions (including openSUSE 11.3) and
other distros (like Fedora).

I have configured two UMTS connections for two different UMTS sticks/providers
(one for Germany, one for Austria where the latter has a PIN code) in NetworkManager.

When I now insert the Austrian UMTS stick, I get a pop-up "SIM PIN Unlock Required".

If I then actively select the corresponding entry in nm-applet, the connection is
established (after all, the PIN is saved in the configuration) and I can manually
cancel the SIM PIN dialog.

The UMTS stick is ID 12d1:1001 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E620 USB Modem.

No. Gerald can dial. Here the behavior of KDE has changed.

This is with a GNOME setup (GDM, GNOME desktop, nm-applet,...).

GNOME it is.

However, there is a timeout which explains occasional failures. It seems to be a duplicate of 668838 after all
