Bugzilla – Bug 711097
When launching YaST, xdg-su dialog pops up asking for root password instead of prettier gnomesu
Last modified: 2011-09-02 08:42:27 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 When one clicks on YaST (gnome-shell overview -> applications), an ugly text-mode like dialog box pops up asking for the root password, unlike previous versions of openSUSE where a much better and consistent looking gnomesu dialog was shown. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 444788 [details] gnomesu I get the "right one" (see attachment). Is this from the livecd, or a full factory install?
This is from the 12.1 M3 liveCD. I see that libgnomesu is not even installed.
Possibly related bugs: 1. bug 701721 is also about libgnomesu missing. 2. bug 540627 is why we are now using xgd-su, instead of "X-KDE-SubstituteUID" (possibly, we also need to add a rpm requires somewhere?)
This is really just bug 701721. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 701721 ***
