Last modified: 2011-10-18 07:46:35 UTC
Created attachment 454104 [details] Installation Logs User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0 Installation hangs - after YaST2 is started the installation does not make any progress ( used cputime on my system approximate 4 min ) I can boot this system, but there was no boot record written, no user have been setup. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE on an Opteron 275 system with NVIDIA NVS 275 2. 3. Expected Results: Successful installation.
Are you still running the installer under X or are you back on the console when this occurs? If the latter happens, can you check the Xorg logs whether X has segfaulted?
Created attachment 456068 [details] requested Xorg.log Sorry for the delay - I was on holiday. Hope the attached file helps you.
Sorry, I do not understand when did this happen: really on the start of the installation, just after the boot? Did you see any of YaST screens? Or was it actually installed, but the installation is not complete?
Your second statement is correct - I am able to boot the installed system and get to the login screen but I am not able to login I had a look at /etc/passwd but no USER "winfrid" was set up
seems to be same problem as 721671 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 721671 ***
