For Whatever reason, Yast decided that the range of keyboard layouts offered by X.org is too big.

Thus, only a subset is available. This make it nearly impossible to install OpenSuse if your layout didn't had the chance to be selected.

Also, borrowing a keyboard only for the installation is not an option since console and GDM will keeps this layout forever (unless you know what to change afterward but it is far from trivial).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a keyboard not listed in Yast (mine is a French Bépo keyboard)
2. Try to install OpenSuse
3. Cry

Expected Results:
All keyboards layout available in X.org should be available in Yast. Or maybe Yast should just uses the keyboard layout configured by the desktop.

I agree.
But it will require larger changes in YaST, so we track it as feature after 12.1.
