The license for the package net-tools requires the license text to be distributed with the package.  Failing to do so invalidates the license and exposes both the distributor and the customer to legal risk.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. { rpm -qi net-tools; }
  2. { rpm -qd net-tools | grep -F COPYING; }

Actual Results:  
  1. License     : GPLv2+
  2. 

Expected Results:  
  2. /usr/share/doc/packages/net-tools/COPYING

YaST team (or me) has nothing to do with net-tools package

bug squash: this defect seems orphaned I'm not maintaining net-tools anymore

Hi Christopher, I'm regret that the issue is still there, but this product does not longer get updates, would you please double check whether this issue still exists and you can reproduce it on a newer version? In that case please open a new bug and provide a reference to this bug and close this one. Thank you!

openSUSE 13.1 doesn't get update any longer, I'm closing here. If this issue is reproducible on a newer version, please feel free to open a new one, thank you!
