Seems like the plymouth issue. I suggest to try again with RC1.
Comment 5 Forgotten User d8u6e9Lt6y 2012-07-13 12:43:24 UTC
the problem is in opensuse 12.2 RC1

(I can not find the item RC1 :(( )
Comment 6 Stefan Dirsch 2012-07-13 12:50:01 UTC
Ok. Then it's likely a different issue.
Comment 7 Forgotten User d8u6e9Lt6y 2012-07-13 15:14:00 UTC
news!

i tried installing the Nvidia driver, and now everything works fine.

the login work always (whether you use the graphical boot, and I use the boot text)

the proble maybe is the driver nvidea free( nouveau)??

now i use:

opensuse 12.2 RC1, kernel 3.4.4.-1.1 desktop, kde 4.8.4 (r2), nvidia gforce8200

but now the new is:

Driver 2D = nvidia
Driver 3D = NVIDIA 295.59

some problem with opensuse 12.2 RC1 64 bit!

news2!

if at the time of login (with screen crash) you press "CTR + ALT + BACKSPACE" kdm reappears and you can use it normally!
Comment 9 Forgotten User d8u6e9Lt6y 2012-07-25 16:20:06 UTC
today i have installed the patch:
2012-07-25 17:56:16|install|xorg-x11-driver-video-nouveau|0.0.16_20120321_ab7291d-3.4.2|x86_64||repo-update|0b4e0dab6c427cab7f9bac00ecf76982a5dee02085f8ca4250245f548b220931

but the result is not change (at least on the 64-bit system, for the system 32-byt i can reinstall)

I use automatic login and I think the same bug has effect in this case too. Upon startup the spashscreen is shown and after while the screen contents becomes garbled. The KDE desktop (which I use) seems to work, but the screen is filled with random junk with just hints of windows. They never become correctly painted however.

Restarting X (Ctrl+alt+backspace) fixes the problem, so the problem occurs only at startup. Starting in text mode also works.

This is on opensuse 12.2 RC1 64 bit
