Description Thomas Herberg 2013-02-12 08:21:24 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0

When trying to boot the openSUSE-12.3-KDE-LiveCD-Build0024-i686.iso in a Virtualbox session on SUSE 12.2 (x64) the session hangs after loading the kernel.
Depeding on the graphics mode selected before in the circle animation or a black screen.

The same happened with one of the betas (3?) before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attatch the image as CD image in Vbox
2. Start the session
3. Continue with one of the options (most time I tried Installation)
Wait for the hang
Actual Results:
Hang

Expected Results:
KDE Live Session or Installation

I tried different graphics settings, fixed 1024x768, no KMS, Textmode. No difference.
The vbox session has 1GB RAM, both available "chipsets" have been tried.

The Vbox session has been used with a 12.2 Image before which worked without a problem.

There is an issue with the vbox guest tools on the LiveCD. As a workaround you can select "Video Mode" "Text Mode" and the menu entry Installation during boot.

The issue is fixed in a current iso build so RC2 should work as expected.
