(In reply to comment #1) > Created an attachment (id=527078) [details] > Xorg log file of start xfce desktop after online update This could be bug #789068, can you try installing xfce4-session and xfce4-power-manager from home:gberh:branches:X11:xfce and see if it fixes the problem? If not I need the other lightdm logs since X is not crashing here, can you please do the following immediately after the login failed: - switch to a console, log in as root - tar cvf /tmp/bnc806348-logs.tar /var/log/lightdm /home/YOUR USERNAME/.xsession-errors - attach /tmp/bnc806348-logs.tar here
Yes. It seems to be bug #789068. After installation xfce4-session xfce4-power-manager from home:gberh:branches:X11:xfce the xfce desktop starts up now for the x86 and the x86-64 version of opensuse 12.3 RC1.
OK, seems an update of polkit-default-privs (which is the cause of this bug) is underway. Once home:gberh:branches:X11:xfce gets a bit more testing I'll publish it as an update to 12.3. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 789068 ***
