Installation freezes at system analysis "Search for Linux Partitions" (60%)
Last modified: 2014-03-18 09:52:33 UTC
Created attachment 563218 [details] My Partition-Table User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 At initial Installation of OpenSuSe 13.1 RC 1, the installation process freezes at system analysis "Search for Linux Partitions" (60%). No progress for 10 minutes. Reproduced it 2 Times. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Installation with DVD-iso-image (standalone PC - no network other than Internet) 2a. Tried it with German locales 2b. Tried it with English (Default) locales (should not have an impact, but anyhow) 3. Waiting for system analysis to complete for 10 minutes Actual Results: Installation progress freezed. Work around: Select "abort" (installation), after a few seconds DVD-player woke up and regular Pop-Up Window showed up "Do you really want to abort ?"; if saying "No" the freeze got skipped, all other analysis-items were clean; go on with installation then possible. Expected Results: System Analysis works without freezing. -

Please provide YaST logs of installation attempt, see http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_YaST.
Created attachment 565106 [details] y2log at installation time (after workaround of bug) Provided now my y2log at installation time. Sorry for taking so long, but needed some how-to-do-this-support first. Cheers Philipp
Some commands, e.g. blkid, mdadm and btrfs, take very long. Looks a lot like bug #846001.
Yep, let's close as dup. If the problem is seen even with a workaround for bogus floppy, please reopen or report back. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 846001 ***
