VUL-0: CVE-2013-4531: qemu: target-arm/machine.c: fix buffer overflow on invalid state load
Last modified: 2016-04-27 18:54:25 UTC
CVE-2013-4531 cpreg_vmstate_indexes is a VARRAY_INT32. A negative value for cpreg_vmstate_array_len will cause a buffer overflow. An user able to alter the savevm data (either on the disk or over the wire during migration) could use this flaw to to corrupt QEMU process memory on the (destination) host, which could potentially result in arbitrary code execution on the host with the privileges of the QEMU process.
