Bugzilla – Bug 947155
VUL-0: CVE-2015-5283: kernel-source: Creating multiple sockets when SCTP module isn't loaded leads to kernel panic
Last modified: 2016-09-07 12:19:24 UTC
rh#1257528 A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in SCTP implementation allowing the local user to cause system DoS. Creation of multiple sockets in parallel when system doesn't have SCTP module loaded can lead to kernel panic. Upstream patch: http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/515996/ References: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1257528 http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2015-5283 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2015-5283

Pushed to SLE12, openSUSE-13.1 and openSUSE-13.2. SLE11-SP4 and earlier are not affected, because sctp has no network namespace support.
