This smells like a candidate for dispute.  It's a device init function that is called only once at each driver probe, and this is a PCI device that handled almost statically.  In addition, the size of leak is small.  So, the chance to hog the all memory is almost impossible.

Nevertheless I'm going to backport the fix to the active branches.
