Comment 1 Takashi Iwai 2020-09-22 11:41:46 UTC
The suggested fixes are from 4.14, and SLE15-SP1 already contain both of them via bsc#1076830.

Reassigned to Michal, who backported the fixes.
Comment 2 Marcus Meissner 2020-09-24 15:02:05 UTC
probably in all codestreams.

Also not clear what rights are needed are available to non-root users?
Comment 5 Michal Kubeček 2021-08-01 22:51:06 UTC
Collected and backported original mainline commits of those reported in the
initial description without one we already have and with few more which are
either follow-up fixes or related fixes of issues of similar or worse severity.

Submitted to cve/linux-4.4 and submitted also pull requests for SLE12-SP2-LTSS
and SLE12-SP3-LTSS with resolved conflicts and necessary refreshes.

The backported series:

4ac36a4adaf8  l2tp: Correctly return -EBADF from pppol2tp_getname.
54c151d9ed13 l2tp: Refactor the codes with existing macros instead of literal
              number
57377d635478 l2tp: ensure session can't get removed during
              pppol2tp_session_ioctl()
dbdbc73b4478 l2tp: fix duplicate session creation
5e6a9e5a3554 l2tp: hold session while sending creation notifications
2777e2ab5a9c l2tp: take a reference on sessions used in genetlink handlers
9ee369a405c5 l2tp: initialise session's refcount before making it reachable
f3c66d4e144a l2tp: prevent creation of sessions on terminated tunnels
cdd10c962749 l2tp: ensure sessions are freed after their PPPOL2TP socket
b228a9406640  l2tp: fix race between l2tp_session_delete() and
              l2tp_tunnel_closeall()
765924e362d1  l2tp: don't close sessions in l2tp_tunnel_destruct()
0d0d9a388a85 l2tp: Allow duplicate session creation with UDP
